Hi, I’m Jack and I’m a training coach at GreshFit. I also create our beat to workout cadence synchronized class soundtracks. More on that later…

I’m a retired software executive. I worked with Colleges and Universities across the globe for over 40 years providing them software that improved their operations and increased student success. I loved my customers, but the rigors of “life on the road” finally caught up with me and I decided it was time to move on to the next phase in my life. It took me a couple of tries, but retirement is sticking this time around.

I remember my first bike and how mad my Mom was at my Grandfather when he showed up with it. Mom didn’t think it was safe to ride on our “busy” street (not so much) in Tonawanda, NY so she didn’t want me to have a bike. Fortunately, Grampa ignored her bought me a red Schwinn bike with training wheels. I’ve owned a bike ever since.

But, I didn’t become a serious cyclist until my wife and I joined the Plano Bicycling Association shortly after we moved to TX in 1983. Neither of us knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into, but it seemed like a good way to meet some folks in our new community.

It’s been our passion ever since…

I learned of the GreshFit winter indoor training program from a friend and we decided to give it a try. I was not a fan of structured training, but the in-studio computrainer based training classes were so much better than slogging it out on your own in the basement. We were hooked! That was 10 years ago and it has become a regular part of our winter routine. The results speak for themselves as we’ve entered the spring outdoor riding season in better form each year.

But, one thing bothered me about the Greshfit training sessions… Tim played music during the workouts, but it was just a random Spotify playlist. Every once-in-a-while the beat of the music coincided with the desired cadence of the workout. WOW - what a difference that made! How cool would it be if everything was in sync?

Fast forward a few years to my retirement. I needed something to fill my days so I asked Tim if I could help out with the training program. Thankfully he said yes. I had fantasized about working in the bike industry for years and now I had that opportunity!

I became a GreshFit Training Coach and also tackled the job of creating class soundtracks that were beat synchronized to the workouts. It’s a time consuming task, but I love music, and I love how much more fun it makes the workouts, so it’s well worth the effort.

I hope you have the opportunity to join either a GreshFit in-studio or virtual training class so you can experience it yourself. We’re not Peloton, but what we lack in size & sophistication, we make up for with our enthusiasm for what we do!
